Stage-4 Cancer — Symptoms, Conventional Survival Rates

It is without a doubt that medicine has made some significant advances over the past few decades, but being diagnosed with cancer is enough to send a shiver down anybody’s spine, and rightly so. After all, cancer is one of the major life takers in the world with an annual average of 8.8 million deaths each year from the disease. While around 40% of the deaths could be averted for several years or more, and over one-third of cancers can be successfully treated through early diagnosis. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case, and more often than not, people find out when it’s too late. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with stage-4 cancer, you will probably be concerned about what it really means for you, and your family.

It’s true that a person with stage-1 cancer is going to be treated differently from somebody who has been diagnosed with stage-4 cancer. The stage of cancer can be found through a process called “staging” which is important not just because it provides the doctor with valuable information on the cancer, but it helps in giving a prognosis for the adequate treatment, and can also help a doctor estimate how well a patient is going to do once the treatment has been completed.

What is Stage-4 Cancer?

A patient is diagnosed with stage-4 cancer when the cancer has spread far from its origin in the body and has metastasized to other lymph nodes and organs in the body. The progression is also called “metastasis” and until the metastasis is singular, which means that it has only spread in a single direction and is accessible, it means that the cancer is no longer treatable with traditional therapies such as radiotherapy or surgery.

Average Survival Rates of Stage-4 Cancer

According to the National Cancer Institute,  5-year average survival rates by using conventional treatments for stage-4 cancer is as follows (beyond 5-years the stats drop dramatically):

  2. Brain         50%
  3. Colon & Rectum  12%
  4. Esophagus        3%
  5. Kidney              12%
  6. Lung & bronchus     4%

  8. Ovary            24%
  9. Pancreas       2%
  10. Prostate         28%
  11. Stomach        4%
  12. Urinary bladder    6%

Things to Know when Diagnosed with Stage-4 Cancer

If you or somebody you know has been diagnosed with stage-4 cancer, it can truly be a stressful frightening experience. The following are some of the important things that you need to know about stage-4 cancer. While describing the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment for all the cancers is not possible in one blog, it is without a doubt that any stage-4 cancer is going to require a sustained regimen of specialized treatment. It’s important to remember that a person with cancer is simply a sick person, a very sick person, but non-the-less, they’re just sick. The right doctor will be interested in finding out why you got cancer, not just treating the symptoms. Most conventional doctors don’t even have a clue. They simply want to give you chemo, radiation, or cut on you.

Does Stage-4 Cancer Require Chemotherapy?

If you are stage-4, the conventional system doesn’t place much hope in your survival. Therefore they’ll recommend highly toxic protocols with little to no hope. It’s my opinion that taking highly toxic anti-cancer protocols to get rid of cancer is a lot like cutting off your nose to get rid of a cold. So to answer the question; “does stage-4 cancer require chemotherapy”? The answer is NO. In fact if you want to be a well person you need to avoid toxins.

Where to get the Best Stage-4 Cancer Treatment?

This is where our experience can really help you. My mom is a stage-4 cancer survivor, and at the time of writing this article she’s an 10+ year cancer survivor. This puts her on a very short list of people who have survived at her level for as long as she has.

Alternative Treatment Options:

It is certainly possible for an individual to be successfully treated for stage-4 cancer. Many lung cancer patients have gone from stage-4 to ‘No Evidence of Cancer’ albeit this remission cannot usually be considered as a definitive cure since the probability of the cancer returning is often high (how you live after treatments will depict your true survival time). But that being said, there is a lot of reasons to be hopeful in having a long life, regardless of what your conventional oncologist may have told you.

Remember that your body is unique, so cancer may have grown in your body for a variety of unique reasons. Some of the most common include:

  • Immune system problems (Most illnesses start from your gut)
  • Poor nutrition (you’ll be shocked to find out what your actually eating if you regularly eat from a box)
  • Toxins in your environment (you may be surprised at how many toxins you have surrounded yourself with)
  • Cancer markers
  • Genetics
  • Glucose levels

Addressing each of these in a customized treatment plan has taken many cancer victims and turned them into cancer survivors. If you’re stage 3 to stage 4, it’s highly recommended that you don’t play doctor on yourself. Get a highly skilled doctor who who will leave no stone un-turned to get you well.
